The elk archery season is during the rut, which allows us to call in bugling bulls. Be ready for some exciting action as these bull elk approach within bow range. You never know what might answer your guide's call. The elk rifle season generally takes place the last week of October through the first week of November. We use spot and stalk methods and our hard work produces good bulls typically sporting 5x5 & 6x6 racks.

The mule deer archery season takes place during the months of September through mid-October. Our ranches provide us with terrain that is optimum for spot and stalk bow-hunting. Buck widths range in size from 20-28 inches, having good mass and deep forks. Expect to glass for bedded bucks in shaded areas prior to the stalk. We see large numbers of mule deer almost every day of rifle season, which runs the last week of October through November. These hunts take place out of four-wheel-drive vehicles. The ranches are large, so the hunt can be as physically challenging as the client wants. These hunts book up fast, so make your 2009 plans now!
White Tail Deer

The white tail deer archery season takes place during the month of September through mid-October. After spending several months scouting, we set our stands in prime locations. Many of these stands are on the edge of transition areas, which allow us to catch the deer moving from bedding to feeding areas. The white tail deer rifle season takes place during the rut and allows our clients the opportunity at trophy bucks that normally might not be seen. These hunts take place out of treestand, tripod and ground blinds set up for optimum chances at these big deer.

Archery antelope hunts take place during the rut. We hunt out of ground blinds over waterholes and use decoys. Our bucks average 14-16 inches with good mass and great prongs. We've taken an archery antelope that had horns 17 inches long. Rifle antelope hunts employ spot and stalk methods. The large number of quality bucks produces a very successful hunt.

Baiting for bears is not allowed in Montana, but we have prime country for spot and stalk opportunities on trophies. One of the biggest reasons for hunting bears in our area is the many color phases of the black bear: black, cinnamon, chocolate or blonde. All are possible. These hunts take place during the spring but can also be arranged during the fall.

Montana's farmland, foothills and prairies teem with pheasant, sharptail grouse, sage grouse, and Hungarian partridge. Central Montana Outfitters' experienced guides and dogs make certain that our upland bird hunters are in the thick of the action. These hunts take place from September through December. Grouse and partridge season generally runs from September through November. Pheasant season takes place mid-October through mid-December. The Missouri River attracts thousands of migrating mallards, redheads and pintails. The surrounding grain fields draw huge flocks of Canadian and snow geese. We hunt out of ground blinds as well as pits, decoying and calling these birds. Late November through January is the prime time for these migrating birds.
