The Highwood Mountain Camp consists of over 38,000 continuous acres in the scenic Highwood Mountain range.

The camp lies in the Highwood Mountains. Its quiet setting, coupled with running mountain stream and majestic pines, offers a relaxing place to unwind after a day of unequaled quality hunting that this camp has to offer.

Our rifle, muzzleloader, and archery Mule Deer hunts have extremely high success rates. This ranch holds very large numbers of Mule Deer and the area offers some of the best hunting in Montana. Hunters will see numerous Mule Deer bucks with tall, heavy, deep forked antlers. Mule Deer are hunted by “spot and stalk” for rifle, muzzleloader, and archery. Our archery hunters have unique opportunities for stalking in close on really great bucks bedded in shaded areas against large rock formations.

Challenge your stalking abilities against some of the keenest eyes of any game you have hunted. Antelope are hunted by archery, rifle, or muzzleloader. Rifle and muzzleloader hunts are "spot & stalk". Archery hunts are from ground blinds over watering holes, which have proven to be very effective. During the rut, we have also been very successful with "spot & stalk" using decoys. Our hunters have taken really good pronghorn's in the past seasons.

Whitetail Deer are hunted from tree stands for archery, rifle, and muzzleloader. We hunt Whitetail in bedding, and feeding transition areas. Hunting alfalfa field edges and travel corridors puts the hunter in the best locations for an opportunity at that trophy Whitetail.

Upland bird hunters are offered a mixed variety of game birds which can put even the most experienced wing shooters to the test. Pheasant, Hungarian Partridge, Sharptail Grouse and Mountain Grouse will challenge your hunting and shooting abilities. Our guides will hunt at your pace, based on the hunters physical abilities and limitations. Central Montana Outfitters will provide experienced guides, and quality pointing dogs, or make arrangements and bring along your hunting companion. This Central Montana Outfitter ranch has four huge Prairie Dog towns on the property. Abundant quantities of varmints can put your marksmanship skills to the test. Summer hunts and group hunts are available in addition to adding a Prairie Dog hunt to your big game hunting trip.

Central Montana Outfitter camp accommodations and lodging consists of:

• Pick up and return of hunting clients to airport in Great Falls.
• Transportation to and from camps.
• 14'x16' wall tents with wood floors, wood heat stoves, and log beds with mattresses. Only two hunters per tent will ensure plenty of room and comfort.
• Spacious 18'x20' cook and dining tent allow hunters to relax and enjoy every meal, which is prepared and served by our on-site "camp-cooks".
• An 8'x10' shower tent is located in camp allowing our hunters to refresh after a day of hunting.
