Many people dream of making a career out of their life's passion. As a licensed professional outfitter and guide in the state of Montana, and owner and operator of Central Montana Outfitters, Chad Schearer is making a life out of his dreams. When Chad was old enough to carry his gear, his father introduced him to the world of hunting and fishing. From that point on, Chad was hooked.

As he spent more time in the woods, Chad became more fascinated with all aspects of outdoor sports. By his teenage years, Chad knew that this was more than a hobby for him--hunting and fishing were a part of his life. He enrolled in the Montana Hunter Safety Education Program and became a junior instructor. A few years later, Chad became a State Hunter Safety Instructor, beginning his guiding career with friends. One of the youngest outfitters ever licensed in North America, Chad, now 35 years old, is an accomplished guide, world champion caller, and professional speaker.

As an outfitter, Chad's main goal is to provide his clients the highest quality hunting and fishing experience. Word gets around. Chad's clients include humorist Patrick McManus (Outdoor Life Magazine); top writers John Haviland, Colin Moore, Bob Robb, and Joe Byers; Country music recording artists Tim McGraw, Mark Collie, Ricochet, Sons of the Desert, and Trace Adkins and Jeff Cook of the recording group Alabama; cowboy cartoonist Boots Reynolds; and Tug McGraw, professional baseball player.

Chad's professional career is not limited to the nearly 200 days per year he spends outdoors guiding clients on hunting and fishing excursions, river rafting adventures and horseback riding trips. When the season ends, Chad continues to hone his craft. Spending as much time as possible traveling to a variety of exhibitions, Chad shares his vast knowledge of the outdoor industry with hunting enthusiasts at sport shows, private hunting clubs, retail outlets, churches and in sporting and trade publications.

Chad's experience guiding clients 200 days per year on hunting and fishing excursions, river rafting adventures, and horseback-riding trips is expanded by presentations at the nation's leading sport shows, private hunting clubs, retail outlets and churches. He also writes regularly for consumer and trade publications. Marsha Schearer has always had a passion for the outdoors, first while growing up in the Volunteer State of Tennessee, then, after marrying Chad in 1998, by playing a very active role in Central Montana Outfitters. In the field, Marsha brings her southern hospitality and excellent cooking skills to the CMO camps. Her background in small-business administration provides CMO a solid foundation back in CMO's home office.

As a licensed guide and hunter, Marsha's skills have been highlighted in magazine articles and on television shows. Most recently Marsha was been featured on the "Hunters Journal" television show, successfully guiding Karen Mehall, Editor of the NRA's Women's Outlook magazine on her first mule deer hunt.

Besides being an expert shot with a rifle and muzzleloader, Marsha manages the office, books trips, organizes the camp menus, cooks, guides, and shuttles vehicles during the fishing season. In other words, Marsha helps keep Central Montana Outfitters running smoothly on top of being a wife and the mother of two very active toddler boys.
