Highwood Mountain Range          Big Belt Mountain Range

Elk  Mule Deer  Bear  Mountain Lion

The Big Belt Mountain Camp consists of over 12,000 continuous acres in the Big Belt Mountain range.

This camp is in a bowl like setting between the mountains and is over seven miles in from the nearest public road. This private ranch and camp is very much a true “back-country” experience, without having to ride in by horseback.

Elk

The "Big Belt" camp produces large numbers of great Elk, some of which range in the 360 plus class. Archery, rifle, and muzzleloader hunters are offered that exhilarating hunting experience they are looking for on this private ranch. Elk are hunted by "spot & stalk", in addition to cow calling and bugling during the rut. The scream of bugling bulls thunder through the mountains during the peak of the rut.

Mule Deer

This camp produces some very good "Mountain Bucks". Big mature bucks roam throughout the area, giving hunters the opportunity for success on "spot & stalk" hunts. Elk/Mule Deer combination hunts are ideal for this camp.

Bear

Our hunting camp on this private ranch is known for its color phase trophy Black Bears. Black, cinnamon, chocolate, and blonde Bears all call this area home. Bears are hunted by "spot & stalk", along with hunting rock slides and old logging trails. These methods have proven to be very successful in the past as Montana laws do not allow baiting or pursuit with hounds. A spring Bear hunt is a perfect way to overcome the winter blues, and a fantastic time of year to enjoy the mountains.

Mountain Lion

Mountain Lions are hunted with the use of hounds, which are provided by Central Montana Outfitters. Even though our guides will get you in close by utilizing old logging roads, Mountain Lion hunting is a unique and can be at times, a physically demanding hunt.

Cat hunts are offered by special bookings during winter months.
